Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls -Business Journal

NEW DELHI: Power shares closed lower in the Friday’s session.

KEC International(up 5.85%), Indowind Energy(up 4.74%), NHPC(up 4.18%), JSW Energy(up 2.67%), Alstom T&D India(up 2.54%), Energy Development Company(up 1.40%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 1.15%), Voltamp Transformers(up 1.09%), Adani Transmissions(up 1.08%) and DPSC(up 0.62%) stood among the top gainers.

Adani Power(down 4.99%), Jyoti Structures(down 4.76%), Orient Green Power Company(down 4.40%), NLC India(down 4.36%), RTNPOWER(down 3.53%), Reliance Power(down 3.47%), PTC India(down 3.40%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 3.01%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 2.97%) and Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 2.96%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 63.2 points down at 18114.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 101.88 points at 60821.62.

HDFC(up 2.1%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.64%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.32%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.29%), Axis Bank(up 1.1%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.01%), SBI Life(up 0.77%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.68%), ICICI Bank(up 0.5%) and Shree Cement(up 0.43%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 4.72%), Coal India(down 3.56%), Tata Motors(down 3.37%), ITC(down 3.31%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.4%), Divis Laboratories(down 2.32%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.25%), Maruti Suzuki(down 2.2%), NTPC(down 2.03%) and Wipro(down 2.0%) closed in the red.
