CBI Introduces SIT to Probe Assistant’s Murder
The Central Bureau of Examination (CBI) has formed an Unique Examination Team (SIT) to explore the murder of Chandranath Rath, an aide to Suvendu Adhikari. The SIT, led by DIG Pankaj Kumar Singh, will penetrate a bigger conspiracy and inter-state links.
- CBI took control of the FIR from West Bengal cops.
- Three suspects are in custodianship: Mayank Raj Mishra, Vicky Maurya, and Raj Singh, believed to be the major agreement killer with 15 prior murder cases.
- The SIT makes up 7 investigators reporting to the joint director in Kolkata.
- Rath was fatally fired on May 6 th in North 24 Parganas district.
