India and Jamaica Strengthen Ties Rooted in Shared Background

Kingston, Jamaica– External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar ended his first visit to Jamaica, emphasizing the long-lasting bond between the two countries, characterized by “connection and change.”

  • Historic Ties: Relationship started in 1845 with the arrival of Indian indentured employees.
  • Diaspora Link: An area of 70, 000 individuals of Indian beginning acts as a “living bridge.”
  • Bilateral Profession: Has surpassed USD 100 million.
  • Shared Values: Both are pluralistic cultures, freedoms, and market economic situations.
  • Future Focus: Purpose to deepen scholastic connections, tourism, and collaboration on international campaigns.

Jaishankar also went to Old Harbour Bay to engage with the Indian diaspora and commemorate the rich social exchange in between both nations.
