New Delhi: India needs to maintain enough financial barriers to navigate volatility coming from the West Eastern dilemma, according to Sonal Varma, Handling Director & & Principal Economist-India and Asia ex-Japan, Nomura. In a current interview, Varma highlighted:

  • The Iran problem substantially affects India because of its dependence on energy imports.
  • The Strait of Hormuz blockade interrupts 20 % of international oil need, disproportionately affecting Asia, including India.
  • Inflationary pressures occur from raised energy prices, LPG scarcities, and climbing production prices.
